THE MOST popular child star in local showbiz today, Ryzza Mae Dizon, celebrated her 8th birthday on June 12 with a bang, first in her own “Ryzza Mae Dizon Show” and “Eat Bulaga” and later at a grand party held in Plaza Ibarra, all the expenses of which the Eat Bulaga production company, Tape Inc. with Malou Choa-Fagar as “punong abala”, shouldered.
We attended the party with our own granddaughter, Jane, who really had a blast since there are so many booths that kiddie guests can go to have a good time: a foto booth where you can change costumes for picture taking, a face painting booth, a candy booth, an ice cream booth, a French fries booth, a fishballs booth, candies booth etc. There are so many balloons, party hats, junkfood and other freebies.
There were games hosted by “Eat Bulaga’s” Ruby Rodriguez and Pauleen Luna and participated in by the likes of Jose and Wally who came with their own kids. Other “Eat Bulaga” residents who came to party were Tito, Vic and Joey, Allan K, Julia Clarete, Anjo Yllana, Keempee de Leon, Ciara and Danica Sotto, and Paolo Ballesteros. Among the other guests were Mother Lily Monteverde, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Pilita Corrales, Manay Lolit Solis, Kuya Germs, Manay Ichu Maceda, Lilibeth Vera Perez, Dolor Guevarra, Mark Herras, the daughters of Ruffa Gutierrez, Lorraine and Venice, etc. Ryzza had three costume changes: all fabulous kiddie gowns designed by Regine Tolentino and Rop Syquia.
Also invited were Ryzza’s relatives, neighbors and playmates in Pampanga, who all came to Manila just to celebrate with her. There were about 200 of them and Tape Inc. even hired a bus just to transport them to Plaza Ibarra.
A video tracing the career of Ryzza from the time she joined Little Miss Philippines in “Eat Bulaga” and her winning the title up to her meteoric rise doing the cha cha dance, having her own title role show and being in the sitcom “Vampire ang Daddy Ko” was shown. The whole “Eat Bulaga” family is obviously very fond of Ryzza who they call Aleng Maliit. And her previously very poor life has dramatically changed for the better as she has, in a year’s time, bought her own house and car for her family. Expect more poor people to ask their daughters to join Little Miss Philippines next year hoping to duplicate Ryzza’s phenomenal rags-to-riches success.
Happy birthday, Ryzza, and here’s wishing you would be able to sustain your showbiz career for a long, long time.
