IT’S GOOD HIS co-actors do not take it against Enchong Dee that he has more assignments than any of them since it’s obvious he’s very much a favorite at ABS-CBN. After “Ina Kapatid Anak”, he’s now taping a new soap, “Muling Buksan ang Puso”, with Julia Montes and it’ll start airing this month. On the big screen, he’s in the current Star Cinema release, “Four Sisters and a Wedding”, and he also stars with Eugene Domingo and Jake Cuenca in their next release, “Tuhog”, directed by Veronica Velasco.
“I have to thank God for all these blessings I’m getting, but I have to admit na nakaka-pressure kasi parang ang taas ng expectations sa’kin ng mga tao,” he says. “Kaya naman I make sure na pinagbubutihan ko ang trabaho ko in every assignment na binibigay nila sa’kin para hindi ako mapahiya sa trust nila sa kakayahan ko. Just like in ‘Muling Buksan ang Puso’, may pagka-bida-kontrabida ang role ko. It’s something new and different for me kaya kakaiba ang challenge nito. It’s a chance to show you’re versatile enough to do any kind of role. I’m already 24 and at this point, I really welcome more demanding mature roles. Walang matinong actor na tatanggi sa role ko rito dahil kakaiba talaga. I want to prove I can give justice to it. Sa ‘Tuhog’, I get the chance naman to work with Eugene, Jake and Leo Martinez. I play Caloy, a conservative guy who wants to preserve my virginity for my girlfriend. Mag-asawa rito sina Jake and Eugene, driver and conductress sa isang bus. Barker naman ako at si Leo Martinez ay isang matandang retired na. Dahil sa isang aksidente, mababago ang buhay naming lahat.”
