How Kim Chiu Reacts When Asked About Her Rift With Former Friend Maja Salvador

KIM CHIU delivers a rollicking performance as an ugly duckling who goes through some embarrassing experiences in “Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?”, part of Star Cinema’s 20th anniversary celebration. “Nakakaloka yung role ko kasi binaboy ako ni Direk Joyce Bernal at nagpababoy naman ako kasi I trust her completely,” she says. “Pinapangit ako rito nang husto, tapos ginawang kulot-kulot ang buhok ko, sobrang makapal ang kilay. May eksena pang humiga ako sa banyo sa tabi ng toilet bowl. Ako naman, I’ll do anything basta sa ikagaganda ng pelikula.”

Like her leading man Xian Lim, Kim says they’re not officially on yet. “Let’s not make it a big deal yung kami ba talaga o hindi. As long as napapanood kami’t nasisiyahan ang mga tao sa amin, yun ang importante. Basta talagang very close ang bonding namin ngayon and I’m really thankful sa pagtulong niya sa family namin, lalo na noong mawala ang mother ko. He was there all the time para damayan kami. Kaya nga noong birthday niya on July 12, I went out of my way to host a party for him bilang ganti ko sa kabutihan niya.”

What can she say to her bashers who censure her for being bitter? They say she cannot move on over Gerald Anderson’s dumping her and now being on with Maja Salvador?

“I don’t owe anyone an explanation. Okay lang naman sa akin na everyone has his own opinion. You can say what you want to say. As long as I’m happy, I’m blessed, I’m thankful and contented with my career and my family, okay ako.”

And why can’t she forgive Maja? “Let’s not talk about her, please. Sa movie na lang tayo mag-focus.”
