“The truth is kakaunti pa lang kasi ang episodes na nate-tape namin with Direk Cathy Molina,” she says. “Kung itutuloy ang airing, baka maging hand-to-mouth kami. Kung ano yung kukunan ngayon, siyang ipalalabas mamayang gabi. So management decided nga to postpone na lang it’s showing para mas mapaganda rin namin ang show. But our fans should not worry kasi malapit na rin itong ipalabas. Soon, soon!”
Didn’t she feel slighted that ABS-CBN gave priority in airing her rival Julia Montes’ show, “Muling Buksan ang Puso”? “Not at all. Hindi issue yun. Pareho naman kami ng network at pareho rin kaming napiling cover girls sa Most Beautiful issue ng Yes Magazine. That means we’re equal kaya huwag na kaming intrigahin. Sa right time, ipapasok din naman ang show namin ni Daniel. Also, magiging busy rin kami shooting our Metro Filmfest entry, ‘Pagpag’.”
Kathryn was launched recently as the first endorser of Juicy Cologne, from the same company that makes Silka Papaya. Juicy exec Henny Co says they got Kathryn for her total personality. “She’s bubbly, very talented, enjoys life and having fun, a trendsetter at 17, so she perfectly fits as brand ambassador of our product and the concept for our campaign.”
Does Kathryn really use the product? I won’t agree to endorse kundi ko talaga ginagamit. Ang maganda kasi, it has so many variants like Sweet Delight, Icylicious, Dreamside, Orange Twist, Sprightly Sprinkle, Angel’s Bliss, Sugar Frosting and Up Up and Away. My personal favourites are Icylicious and Sugar Frosting kasi they’re very light and fresh. Perfect ang cologne during tapings kaysa perfume kasi it keeps you feeling fresh and sweet kahit pagod ka na.”
Has Daniel smelled it? “Yes, dumaan lang ako, napansin niya. Ang bango raw.” Will she be seen using it in “Got to Believe”? “Yes, why not? Kung mabibigyan ba ng pagkakataon.”
What can she say about the story that she has become a swellhead? She allegedly reprimanded her production assistant who didn’t protect her with an umbrella on the set when the sun is shining so hot. “Narinig ko nga po yung, ayaw ko raw kasing umitim. Walang ganung issue. Ni hindi ko nga alam kung sino yung P.A. na yun. Meron lang pong nang-iintriga sa’kin. The truth is I’m the same Kathryn pa rin. Walang nabago sa’kin.”
