Lovi Poe Stresses She's Not On With Jake Cuenca And She Didn't Reconcile With Ronald Singson

LOVI POE didn’t tape any new show for several months after “Legacy” and she kept on wishing she’d be given a new TV show soon. “Now, I’m taping ‘Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas’ for GMA-7 on Monday, Wednesay and Friday, and ‘Titser’ for GMA News TV Channel 11 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, Hindi na ko natutulog, so be careful what you wish for,” she says.

“Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas” will replace “Mundo Mo’y Akin” starting July 29 and it’ll be up against “Muling Buksan ang Puso” whose cast includes Susan Roces (wife of her dad) and Agot Isidro (who plays her mentor in “Titser”). “Oo nga, e. Good luck na lang sa amin. Nag-usap na kami ni Ms. Agot and we agreed na friends pa rin kami kahit magiging magkalaban ang shows namin. But I consider ‘Akin Pa Rin’ a really big challenge kasi first time ko ritong makatrabaho si Ms. Helen Gamboa, who I’m told is a favorite leading lady of my dad. She’ll play somebody na aapihin ako sa umpisa but will later be my benefactor and help me. First time ko rin to work with Mr. Cesar Montano. I’m excited dahil, napapanood ko lang siya before, ngayon katrabaho ko na. In the story, I play Loubella, anak sa labas who’ll be maltreated by everyone but won’t give up hope as my character believes na ‘Akin Pa rin ang Bukas’ sa kabila ng mga pagpapahirap nila sa akin.”

Lovi has finished two new films, “Sana Dati”, a Cinemalaya entry that starts showing at the CCP on July 27, and “Lihis”, a Sineng Pambansa entry in September. It’s said she’s so good in “Sana Dati” as a girl having second thoughts on her wedding day that she might give good competition to Vilma Santos in “Ekstra” as best actress come filmfest awards night.

“Naku, hindi ako umaasa. Imposible. Vilma Santos yun. Basta I’m happy with our project and I’m happy with my role.”

In “Lihis”, she plays the flirty college girl who steals Joem Bascon from the gay Jake Cuenca. “Ang landi-landi mo raw sa movie,” someone tells her.

“Ay, hindi, a. Mas malandi sa’kin si Jake,” she says laughing.

Is it true she got jealous because Jake (said to be her secret BF) had a truly hot love scene with Joem in “Lihis” that borders on gay porn? “Bakit naman ako magseselos, e never naman naging kami. Believe it or not, we’re really just good friends. Wala akong lovelife at all, simply because I don’t have the time. Nakakatawa nga kasi may nagsulat ding nagkabalikan kami ni Ronald (Singson), which is also not true.”
