RUFA MAE QUINTO confesses she’s not loveless at the moment, but she’d rather not reveal the identity of her boyfriend. Also, I want people to focus on my new movie, ‘Ang Huling Henya’, not on my lovelife.
She’s excited with “Huling Henya” because her director is Marlon Rivera, who helmed Eugene Domingo in the acclaimed smash hit, “Babae sa Septic Tank”. Marlon is also in the movie “Ekstra”, but as an actor, playing the role of the TV soap director who humiliated Vilma Santos in front of everyone.
“It’s a pleasure working with Direk Marlon dahil binago niya ko sa pelikulang ito. I really want to offer something new to the audience. Mas seryoso ako in this solo comeback. I’m assigned to protect scientists and inventors from an evil group called The Agency. I really trained hard for this movie at nag-acting workshop uli ako to make sure I deliver not just the comic scenes kundi pati action and dramatic scenes. At masasabi kong I’m really proud of this movie. Ibang Rufa Mae ang mapapanood ninyo rito.”
Direk Marlon says Rufa Mae really shines in her secret agent role. Puedeng pang-award ang acting niya rito kasi she stepped out of her usual comfort zone to venture into something new for her. It’s a big gamble for her kasi ni wala siyang make up dito, but she passed all the challenges I gave her with flying colors.”
“Ang Huling Henya” also stars Edgar Allan Guzman, Fabio Ide, Candy Pangilinan, DJ Durano and Valerie Weigman. All of them attest to Rufa Mae’s dedication to come up with a really good action-comedy. The movie opens nationwide on August 21. After this, Rufa Mae will be doing the filmfest entry, “Torky and My Little Bossing” with Vic Sotto, Ryzza Mae Dizon and Bimby.
