The True Reason Why Helen Gamboa Left The Cast Of Gma-7's 'Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas'

TWO NEW shows that are about to start are both beset with problems and we hope this is not a bad omen for them. ABS-CBN’s “Got to Believe” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla was postponed the first time it was about to be shown two months ago. Last week, a presscon was called since it’s finally showing tomorrow, but the presscon had to be cancelled due to bad weather.

On GMA-7, the airing of “Akin Pa rin ang Bukas” starring Lovi Poe was also postponed several times, requiring the extension of “Mundo Mo’y Akin”, which it is supposed to replace, for several weeks. This is the show Cesar Montano is taping when his wife Sunshine Cruz sued him for marital rape.

Then, Helen Gamboa who plays an important role suddenly backed out after having already taped for three weeks. Several episodes that had already been done before had to reshoot. It was rumored she had some demands that the network didn’t meet and she’ll just go back to ABS-CBN, but her manager, Shirley Kwan, denies this.

“ABS has no project for her and we have no demands on GMA kasi kahit hindi pa namin hinihingi, ibinibigay na nila,” says Shirley. “Umiikot ang paningin niya due to vertigo and her asthma at hindi siya puedeng mapuyat. Maraming bawal and she can’t work without her doctor’s go signal. Hiyang-hiya nga kami sa GMA as they’re willing to wait while she’s resting and undergoing therapy, but we don’t want to ruin their timetable for the show. Nangako na lang kaming once na puede siyang magtrabaho uli, she’s willing to do a new project for GMA.”

Helen was replaced by Liza Lorena. Another senior cast member is Gloria Romero.
