TV5 Airs 27th FIBA Asia Championship 2013 Right After 'Undercover' & 'Misibis Bay'

AFTER ‘CASSANDRA’ has ended, TV5 now airs the 27th FIBA Asia Championship 2013 following "Undercover" and "Misibis Bay". Representing our country is the Smart Gilas Pilipinas roster composed of cagers Ranidel De Ocampo, Larry Fonacier, Jimmy Alapag, LA Tenorio, Jason Castro, Gary David, Gabe Norwood, Japeth Aguilar, June Mar Fajardo, Marcus Douthit, Marc Pingris, Beau Belga, and Jeffrei Chan.

The Saudi Arabia vs Philippines game was one of the 7 games held on the opening day of FIBA Asia Championship 2013. LA Tenorio and Larry Fonacier led the Gilas Pilipinas in the scoring, each having 12 points. Marcus Douthit followed with 10 points, and with 11 rebounds. Tenorio had 6 rebounds and 6 assists, while Fonacier had only 1 rebound and 4 assists. However, it was Marc Pingris who was named Best Player of the game with 8 pts., 9 reb. and 1 blk. It was a good win for Gilas Pilipinas. Team effort powered their win as all of its players contributed in the scoring, but they could have performed much better than that I guess. A total of 14 teams are competing and the next FIBA will be held in Spain in 2014. The other teams are Japan, China, Korea, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Taipei, Jordan, Bahrain, India, Thailand, Kazakhstan and Malaysia.
