Sen. Grace says her mom was asking her how come she doesn’t hold office yet at the Senate Bldg. when her term was supposed to have started on July 1 yet. When she said that their work officially starts after Pres. Noynoy’s SONA yet and the office she inherited from Sen. Franklin Drilon is still being renovated, her mom said: “Kumuha ka ng desk at maupo ka na lang sa hallway ng senado at doon ka magtrabaho, para makita ng mga taong bumoto sa’yo na nagtatrabaho ka na talaga.”
She just laughed at her mom’s “pangungulit” to her. “Hindi pa nga officially nagsisimula ang Senate, gusto na niyang pumasok na ako para magawa ko raw ang obligations ko sa Senado. She really acts as my moral compass ngayong na Senador na ako.”
Sen. Grace says she wants to thank Gov. Vilma Santos for making her number one in Batangas. “Inaanak niya si Sheryl Cruz at tuwing Pasko, pag namasko sa kanya si Sheryl, sumasama ako. Siempre, pati ako, inaabutan niya. Noong campaign, I told her, ibang gift ang wish ko sa kanya, to endorse me sa constituents niya sa Batangas, which she did, kaya malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa kanya.”
