Jessy Mendiola Is The Apple Of The Eye Of So Many Kapamilya Actors But She's Not Interested

JESSY MENDIOLA seems to be the most “ligawin” among the Kapamilya girls now. We all know what happened to JM de Guzman after she broke up with him. Matteo Guidicelli also wooed her for a while but she says it’s “naudlot”. Sam Milby has recently announced that he is courting her. Now, her leading man in “Maira Mercedes” has also admitted he’s attracted to her and he’s “nagpaparamdam” or sending feelers about this to her while they’re taping their show.

Jake (who’s been linked to Roxanne Guinoo, Melissa Ricks and Lovi Poe before) even claims that when it comes to Jessy, he is “natitiyope” or feels shy. Ang haba naman ng hair ni Jessy!

Although she has plenty of suitors, she has made clear to them that her career is her priority, not affairs of the heart. “Big responsibility itong ibinigay sa akin as ‘Maria Mercedes’ and I don’t want to be distracted from it,” she says.

The director of “Maria Mercedes”, Chito Rono, says Jessy is perfect for the title role. “She’s very beautiful at isa siyang matapang na babaeng handang lumaban, but still looks very vulnerable. Bagay na bagay si Jessy for the role of a girl na gagawin ang lahat para sa kanyang pamilya.”

The story starts with Vina Morales and Dominic Ochoa, the parents of Maria Mercedes. When her dad died, their mom abandons them and Maria becomes the breadwinner for her siblings (Devon Seron and Yogo Singh), taking on all sorts of jobs to earn a living with her childhood friend Clavio (Jason Abalos). She then meets the rich businessman, Luis (Jake Cuenca), but his mom (Vivian Velez) and girlfriend (Nikki Gil) both gang up on her. An elderly gentleman then comes up help her, Santiago (Ariel Rivera), who will give her life a turn around. Also in the cast are Nadia Montenegro, Atoy Co, Erika Padilla, Marx Topacio, Alex Castro and Isabelle de Leon, with Ricky Rivero and Rechie del Carmen as co-directors.

“Dream come true for me to play ‘Maria Mercedes’ as I’ve been a fan of Thalia as a little girl,” says Jessy. “Hindi ko akalaing sa’kin ito ibibigay ng ABS ang classic telenovela itong big hit in various countries all over the world. And for this big break, I will always be grateful.”
