“But we’re okay,” she adds. “Iisa lang ang priority namin, our son Ethan Akio. Maaring we’re hiwalay, but we’re united in raising our son and wanting to give him a good future.”
So why did they split? Is there a third party involved? “Wala, wala ring kinalaman ang pera or conflict sa career tulad ng sinasabi ng iba. Basta it’s a mutual decision.”
Is it true she got fed up with him because he continues to hide her and their son?
“Nabasa ko rin nga yun, napuno na raw ako. Basta, kung anuman yun, hayaan nyo na lang sa’min. Basta nagka-usap kami nang maayos, nagkaiyakan. Ako, I confess, matagal akong umiyak, but now, after several months, dun ko na-realize how strong I am. Ang tibay ko pala, just like a tree that absorbs lahat ng ulan, tubig, hangin, and still remains standing high. I treat Paulo now as a friend, as someone I respect. Kasi kailangang magkaintindihan kami for the sake of our son. In fairness to him, sinusuportahan niya ito.”
Does she believe that Paulo tried committing suicide because of their calling it quits? “No. He’s not the type kaya hindi ako puedeng maniwala. Unang-una, he’s very God-fearing, and I know he loves our son kaya hindi niya basta maiiwanan ito.”
In “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko”, she plays a girl who’s obsessively in love with Aljur Abrenica, who’s in turn enamoured with Kris Bernal. But off cam, LJ is being linked to Renz Fernandez, Aljur’s half brother in the soap.
“Naku, hindi totoo yan. Mabait si Renz sa lahat sa’min show. He’s a friend. Pero ang focus ko lang talaga ngayon is my son. Wala ng iba.”
