YENG CONSTANTINO tries acting in a full length film for the first time in the Cinema One filmfest entry, “Shift”. “Nakakatuwa dahil 2013 will be a very memorable year for me,” she says. “This year, na-release ang albums ko sa other countries like Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan. The Academy of Rock made me their Ambassador last May and launched my signature guitar. Then the music channel MYX honored me with the Favorite Female Artist award and my album “Metamorphosis” naman won the Rock Album of the year award at the 2013 Star Awards. Tapos, common knowledge naman, nagka-lovelife ako and I have a very supportive boyfriend now. At heto ngayon, I’m trying serious acting in ‘Shift,’ an entry to the Cinema One Originals Film Festival to be shown at Glorietta, Robinsons Galleria and Trinoma until November 19. Sa November 30 naman, may concert ako sa Samsung Hall ng SM Aura, in time for my birthday on December 5. Ang feeling ko talaga, ang bait ni Lord sa dami ng blessings na binibigay sa’kin kaya thank you talaga.”
In “Shift”, she plays a tomboyish call center agent who is trained by Felix Roco. She falls in love with him and gets shocked when she finds out he’s actually gay. Felix says she’s a very good actress for a first timer.
“Utang ko sa kanya kung okay man ang acting ko kasi very supportive siya. Also to our director, Siege Ledesma, na inalalayan talaga ako dahil baguhan nga ako. I hope magustuhan ng viewers ang pag-branch out kong ito sa acting to show that I can do a lot more things than writing songs and singing. Naiiba rin ang milieu ng story kasi it explores the world of call center agents.”
