“I love doing both shows,” she says. “I love working with Direk Joel Lamangan in ‘Madam Chairman’ and my three kids there, sina Akihiro Blanco, Shaira Mae and Byron Ortile. Mga anak talaga ang turing ko sa kanila and they call me Mommy. Dito naman, love ko rin si Direk Bert de Leon and Ogie is such a joy to work with, such a generous person and a generous performer. Actually, friends na kami since the 80s at nagkasama kami doing concerts in the U.S. so dun kami naging close. But working with him in this show is really something else. I just love singing with him.”
How true is the rumor her husband Kiko Pangilinan will be running for vice president in 2016? “I don’t think it’s in his plans. Mas happy siya ngayon working in our farm in Alfonso, Cavite. Pag may bagyo, ninenerbiyos na siya kasi masisira ang mga tanim niya at lugi. But it’s lucrative. We now supply vegetables and chicken to some hotels and restaurants. We now also plant coffee and all kinds of herbs. Even our piglets are organic, yung native na black. Ginagawa na nga niyang pets at naa-attach na sa kanya. Sabi ko, sige, papangalanan ko nang lahat yan. We even ferment our own vinegar. Ang pangalan ng suka namin, Ka Kiko, May Asim Ka Pa. Politics is not in his mind right now. He just wants to focus on his farm. Ang laptop nga niya, puro litrato about the farm, showing yung kalabaw namin, nagsu-swimming.”
She says they’ve sold their house in Wack Wack and are now renting temporarily a house in Alabang while they’re having their house in Westgrove, Sta. Rosa renovated. “We like the kids to grow up there. The air is so fresh. Iba ang environment and it’s just half an hour away from our farm in Alfonso. Our kids also enjoy being in the farm. Our son Miguel, who’s now 4, enjoys feeding the chickens.”
How about KC who’s now being linked to a cager and to Paulo Avelino? “She’s old enough. I just have to trust in the way I raised her. She knows how to feel responsible for her own decisions. She has fought her own emotional battles and I know she has learned from her own experiences. She told me friend lang sila noong si Chandler and she also told me she went out once with Paulo. Naku, malaki na siya. May tatlo pa akong mas maliliit who need my attention so hindi ko na pinoproblema yung malaki.”
In tonight’s “The Megastar and the Songwriter” at 9 PM, Sharon will be singing Gloria Estefan songs, starting with “The Rhythm’s Gonna Get You”. “Masaya yung episode ngayon so don’t miss it,” she says.
