CAMILLE PRATS denies at the presscon of her new GMA-7 soap, “The Borrowed Wife”, the rumor that she’s getting married soon. “Hindi ako, baka ang Kuya John ko yun,” she says.
She admits she has found new love in John Yambao, a green card holder who’s based in Los Angeles, California. How did they meet? “Actually, classmate ko siya noong grade 2 kami. Sabi niya, I gave him a picture of mine then at noon pa raw, crush na niya ako, araw-araw niyang tinitingnan ang picture ko. Magka-village pala kami all the while. Nakikita niya raw ako. Sabi ko, bakit hindi mo ko kinakausap? E, kasi raw baka hindi ko na siya natatandaan. Then we met again through social media. Doon nagsimula.”
What if he’d ask her to settle down with him in the States? “Sa’kin, okay lang to migrate there. Kasi, kung ikakasal kami, siempre, magiging priority ko na ang family namin. At bilang siya ang lalaki, then he’ll be the one to work and provide for us. E, maganda naman ang work niya roon. Okay lang iwanan kong career ko dito. Pero malayo pa yon. At pwera na lang if he’d find better opportunity here and he’d relocate here.”
How’s the family of her late husband taking it? “Nagkausap na kami and they said okay lang daw sa kanila, basta masaya ako. Huwag ko lang daw silang kalilimutan at huwag kong pababayaan ang anak kong si Nathan. I told them, siempre, hindi mangyayari yun, lalo na nga’t ang anak ko ang number one siya sa’kin ngayon. I made that clear even to John, that I don’t come alone, kasama ko ang anak ko. Happily, magkasundo naman sila.”
In “The Borrowed Wife”, Camille plays Maricar, best friend of Pauleen Luna who plays Tessa. Tessa is in love with Richard (Rafael Rosell), but he chooses to marry Camille. Pauleen continues to seduce Rafael and she succeeds. Camille sees them being unfaithful. She leaves their house and figures in a fire. When she wakes up, she has lost her memory and is told by Dr. Earl, a doctor played by TJ Trinidad, that she is Sophia, his wife. Even her appearance has been changed by the doctor, a plastic surgeon. But slowly, traces of her memory comes back every now and then, resulting into the story’s big conflict. Also in the cast of “The Borrowed Wife” are Caridad Sanchez, Yayo Aguila, Sherilyn Reyes and Kevin Santos, directed by Gil Tejada. This will start airing on January 27.
