Winwyn Marquez Not Ready Yet To Join A Beauty Pageant

WINWYN MARQUEZ appears in her very first movie in “10,000 Hours”. “Nakakatuwa dahil ang una kong pelikula, filmfest entry pa, excited na kong sumakay sa float sa Parade of Stars, at starring no less than Robin Padilla pa,” she says. “I just learned they’re holding an audition for the movie so nag-audition ako at ang laking tuwa ko when I found out nakuha ako as one of the three kids of Tito Robin and Ms. Mylene Dizon. Mga kapatid ko rito sina Cholo Barretto and Marki Stroem. It was a great learning experience for me. Starstruck pa ako noong una, buti na lang mababait silang lahat sa’kin, pati si Direk Joyce Bernal.”

Robin said he didn’t know her at all, but when they did a drama scene together, Winwyn impressed him and he asked around who she is. When he was told she’s the daughter of Joey and Alma, he wasn’t surprised anymore. A tall and charming morena beauty, everyone is urging Winwyn to join a beauty pageant and be a beauty queen like her Tita Melanie Marquez, sister of her dad Joey Marquez.

“Naku, magte-train muna akong mabuti. Hindi pa ako sure kung saan ako magjo-join, Bb. Pilipinas o Miss World-Philippines. Right now, I’m being guided by Jonas Gaffud of Mercator na siya ring nag-train kina Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, Ariella Arida and other beauty queens. Dream ko talagang sumali kasi it will be a different experience for me. Gusto kong rumampa’t maramdaman ‘yung ginawa ni Tita Melanie when she won as Miss International in 1979. Anyway, 21 pa lang naman ako so there’s still time to prepare bago ako mag-join. Manggugulat na lang ako.”

She admits she’s had one boyfriend so far. “He’s a PAL international flight attendant. Nag-break na kami noon but we just reconciled.”

On TV, she was just seen in the thriller “Dormitoryo”, where she played dual roles. For her next project, she will be with Louise de los Reyes and Aljur Abrenica in the fantasy-drama, “Kambal Sirena”.
