WE ADMIRE Angeline Quinto for admitting that she’s a retoke beauty.
“Una kong pinagawa, yung eyes ko as they’re droopy. Parang laging malungkot.
Folks say because of all the ‘retoke’, she now looks like Regine Velasquez?
Called the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs, her latest assignment is to sing the theme song of Angel Locsin’s “Legal Wife”, “Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin” which was first sung by Sharon Cuneta in “Madrasta”. It’s now included in her new album from Star Records, “Higher”.
She herself wrote the carrier single, “Sana Sana”. “I wrote the lyrics then binigay ko kay Sir Jonathan Manalo (producer of her album) at nalapatan niya agad ng melody. It’s about someone na umibig pero naudlot, hindi natuloy, umiyak siya pero muling bumangon.”
Someone quipped it’s like her personal story with Coco Martin, who she thought was in love with her while they were doing a movie, “Born to Love”, but the romance quickly fizzled out after the movie was shown. Angeline chooses to keep quiet instead of making any reply. How about her being linked to Erik Santos? “Hindi totoo yun. Ni hindi siya nanliligaw sa akin.”
When will she have a new movie or teleserye?
What I dream of doing is have a concert at the Araneta Coliseum. So next time, sa Araneta naman.”
How’s her new album compared to the first two ones? “The first ones were all ballads. Itong bago, may upbeat songs para maipakita ang range ko as a singer, na kaya ko to do other songs.
The other songs in her album are “Nag-iisa Lang”, “Sino Ako sa ’Yo”, “Ako na Lang”, “Ikaw ang Aking Mundo”, “Babalik Kang Muli”, “Kung Sakali Man”, “Bring Back the Times”, “Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin” and the album’s title song “Higher Love.”
