RAYMOND BAGATSING says he is not the cause of delay of the movie “Mumbai Love” which will be shown in theatres starting today. “It’s true na hindi ko natapos yung movie but I informed them about it beforehand,” he says. “I told them I really need to go back to the States to renew my green card so pinapa-schedule ko na ang shooting ko, pero hindi nila nagawa so I had to go. Pagdating ko nga sa States, ayaw na akong papasukin. Hindi na raw valid ang green card ko kasi I did not stay there. I was detained for three hours. It’s good may kinausap ako who talked to immigration at pinayagan din akong makapasok. I had to stay in the U.S. for two months para ayusin uli ang green card ko. Sayang naman kung igi-give up ko, e talagang pinaghirapan ko nang husto makuha ko lang yun. When I was in the States nga, panay ang tawag sa akin ng manager ko, si Manay Lolit Solis. Sabi niya, ano, uumpisahan na itong ‘Carmela’. Kung hindi ka available, papalitan ka ng iba, kino-consider nila si Gabby Concepcion. So I’m glad umabot pa ako sa taping dahil maganda ang role ko rito.”
He plays the role of Dante, the younger brother of Laurice Guillen. Laurice is married to Roi Vinzon, who years ago, raped Marian’s mom, Agot Isidro, and also caused the death of her father, Ricky Davao. Marian returns to their hometown with the intention of seeking revenge on Roi, but Raymond falls in love with her even if he’s already engaged to Rochelle Pangilinan.
“In ‘Amaya’, father ako ni Marian and in ‘Temptation of Wife’, father in law naman niya ako,” says Raymond. “So at least, naiiba ang papel ko ngayon dito dahil pagnanasaan ko na siya. Yung ginawa ni Roi sa nanay niyang Agot, gagawin ko naman sa kanya ngayon.”
