When we asked Kim what’s the level of their relationship now, she said: “Ganun pa rin. We’re comfortable with each other. Nagsusuportahan kami sa eksena. Siya ang closest friend ko sa showbiz ngayon”
Later, colleague Aster Amoyo asked her again about it and she should answer only with a yes or no. This is Kim’s reply: “We don’t owe you any of our personal lives. Kasi, you can think naman what you think, as long as you’re happy when you watch us on TV. Lahat naman tayo, meron tayong mga hindi dapat i-share or dapat i-share. But it’s our choice and I hope you guys respect it.”
Kim didn’t say “we don’t owe you any explanation”, like others wrote and which antagonized some writers. This is, admittedly, more mataray ang dating. But we guess, you can just read between the lines. Earlier, she said about Xian: “Harmless naman ‘yan.”
And their co-star, Empoy Marquez, said when asked how Kim and Xian are on the set: “Parang magkapatid lang ang dalawang yan.” And their director herself, Mae Czarina Cruz, said: “They have genuine respect for each other.”
