Benjie Paras' Eldest Son, Andre, Declines To Talk About Estranged Mom Jackie Forster

ANDRE PARAS, Benjie Paras’ eldest son, is one of the four VJ’s in MTV Pinoy that starts airing on February 14, along with Sam Pinto, Yassi Pressman and Gino Padilla’s son, Josh Padilla. MTV Pinoy will be seen on SKY cable (Channel 71), Destiny (Channel 47 at analog) and Cable Link (Channel 37). It’s common knowledge that Andre and his brother Kobe are not in good terms with their biological mom, Jackie Forster, but he’d rather keep his lips sealed about it.

“Whatever it is, it’s between us na lang, not with the media,” he says. “That’s all I can say na lang. Sorry but I don’t wanna answer questions about her anymore. Anything that happened is between us na lang. I don’t even Tweet about her anymore.”
He and Kobe are much closer to their stepmom, Lyzen Diomampo. “We grew up with her. We consider her our mom.”

At 18, he stands 6’4” and has the looks of a heartthrob. He’s majoring in Film at UP, where he’s part of the varsity team. People tend to compare him with his dad, who also played for UP, but he said they are two different people. “People also compare me with Kobe but we’re also different from each other so it’s unfair to make comparisons.”
He claims to be a loner and has never had a girlfriend. “Nobody minds me in school. Wala ngang pumapansin sa akin. Kahit sino, when I say, ‘Hi, kamusta ang araw n’yo?’ hindi ako pinapansin.
So, I’m always alone in school. I have more friends in high school. Now, I just read my school stuff and go to training, that’s all. I do get lonely and I want to have a relationship. Pero naiisip ko rin ‘yung schedule ko sa school, sa basketball, now, I signed up with Viva and VJ pa ako! So, no time. School at work muna ako. I’ll give my best to all the things I get into: film, basketball, being a VJ.”
