ARCI MUNOZ was about to join Miss World Philippines the year before last but she backed out. “Ang dami ko kasing projects sa TV5 at that time and they pulled me out,” she says. “I have a contract with them and I cannot just leave them to devote my time to a beauty pageant. E, sa ngayon, hindi na ko puede as I turned 25, so I guess being a beauty queen will remain an unfulfilled dream. Hindi talaga para sa’kin.”
She plays Daniel Matsunaga’s original bride in “The Replacement Bride” that will be aired tonight on TV5’s “Studio 5 Original Movies”. She shines in their final confrontation scene when she bids him a final goodbye. “That was a difficult scene kasi pareho kaming umiiyak at paulit-ulit ang camera setup kaya we have to hold on to our emotions para hindi maputol yung pag-iyak namin. Buti na rin lang at nakatrabaho ko na si Daniel before at madali siyang pakisamahan kaya nagawa namin nang tama ang eksena. First time ko to be directed by Direk Mac Alejandre here. Akala ko terror siya, yun pala, masayang kasama sa set at lagi kaming maaga natatapos.”
Aside from this, she’ll soon be taping for the local adaptation of the Hollywood hit primetime soap, “Pretty Little Liars”, as the sister of the girl who’ll play the role of Spencer. “Hindi ko pa alam kung sino si Spencer but I’m really happy to be a part of this very big project.”
When not busy acting, she’s active as the vocalist of Phylia Band. “Hard rock ang music namin and I guess hindi talaga ako destine maging beauty queen kundi maging rock star,” she laughs.
