“Malungkot nga ang Christmas holidays ko as we just broke up then,” says Luis. “Buti na lang naging maganda ang pasok ng 2014 at nabigyan ako agad ng bagong show ng GMA-7, ang ‘Innamorata’, where I’m the leading man of Max Collins who’s being launched here.”
Luis has also renewed his contract with GMA, along with his manager, Noel Ferrer. His first show for this new contract is “Innamorata” and he’s glad that it fulfils one of the roles he’s dreaming to portray: that of a blind man.
“TV commercial director ako dito na nabulag dahil sa isang aksidente,” he says. “Anak ako ni Michael de Mesa who owns a shoe factory. Doon nagtatrabaho si Max Collins and I fall in love with her not knowing na pangit pala siya because of her skin disease called porphyria na sobrang sensitive sa araw at parang nasusunog siya. Tinototoo ko ang eksena na parang bulag talaga akong walang nakikita kaya sa taping, minsan, nadapa na ako at minsan, natusok ako sa isang bagay na hindi ko alam na nakaharang sa daraanan ko.”
Does he think Max Collins is justified to be given her launching show in “Innamorata”? “Oo naman. Napanood ko siya noon in ‘Pahiram ng Sandali’ with Dingdong Dantes and okay naman siya, she delivers. Kasama rin namin dito si Gwen Zamora. Bale dual roles ako rito kasi ako rin ang kapareha ni Gwen sa flashbacks scenes set in the 1920s. Kami naman ni Gwen played husband and wife in ‘Binoy Henyo’, our last show before ‘Innamorata’.”
