AFTER PLAYING the lead role in “Menor de Edad” last year, Meg Imperial now plays a major supporting role in “ABNKKBSNPLako”. She plays a girl who was rejected by Jericho Rosales when they were still classmates in grade school and grew up preferring girls instead. We saw the movie at its preview and Meg is really very persuasive in her role as Portia, who’s just one of the boys in their barkada with Jericho and Vandolph. How’s it acting with them?
“Si Vandolph, nakatrabaho ko na in ‘Pidol’s Wonderland’ on TV5 before, so magkakilala na kami,” she says. “But si Echo, first time ko and I was starstruck noong una kasi fan niya ko noong days ng love team nila ni Kristine Hermosa. But he turned out to be very nice kaya na-relax agad ako sa company nila. Naging good friends talaga kaming lahat, pati si Andi Eigenmann na kasama ko ngayon sa ‘Galema’ sa ABS. Masaya kami lagi sa set.”
She’s confident “ABNKKBSNPLako” will be a big hit when it premieres at Gateway on February 16 and opens in theatres nationwide on February 19. “Millions of people have read the book and enjoyed it, so I’m sure they’ll be curious na panoorin ang movie. Both the book and the movie are very funny.”
Even if she’s still busy with “Galema”, she’s now also taping a new show for ABS, “Moon of Desire”. “Bale MWF ako roon sa isa at TThS naman sa isa, kaya wala akong pahinga. Tapos busy pa sa promo ng movie. Pero okay lang, I’m not complaining.”
She’s paired with three leading men in “Moon of Desire”: JC de Vera (who’s also in “Legal Wife”), Dominic Roque and newcomer Miko Raval. “I play a radio DJ na maraming followers, but they don’t know I have this rare disease, hypertrichosis, which is about abnormal growth of hair on the skin, so bearded lady ako rito. Nilalagyan ng buhok ang mukha ko, leeg ko, mga braso ko. Pero tuwing kabilugan ng buwan, gumaganda ako.”
This sound like GMA-7’s “Innamorata” that starts airing on February 17. Max Collins is also afflicted with a rare disease called porphyria, which makes her skin look like chicharon, but she also becomes beautiful when she wears a magic necklace.
