Michael De Mesa Excited To Play The Role Of Late National Artist Ishmael Bernal In A Filmbio

MICHAEL DE MESA is back acting in a soap after working behind the camera as a director in “Magpakailanman”. He plays Lloyd, the arrogant father of Luis Alandy as Edwin, a blind boy who falls in love with Max Collins as Esperanza, a pretty girl but afflicted with a skin ailment called porphyria which makes the skin look like chicharon. Max works in Michael’s shoe factory and when Michael learns that his son has fallen in love with her, he drives Max away from Luis.

“Yes, bad boy na naman ang role ko rito,” he says. “I’m in love here with Rita Avila, who I didn’t know is the real mom of Max na iniwan nito kaya inampon ni Pinky Amador na inaapi naman siya.”

Mike did two mainstream films last year, “On the Job” and “10,000 Hours”. For this year, we heard he’s been tapped to play the role of the late National Artist for Film, Ishmael Bernal, in a filmbio on the last few days of the respected filmmaker written by Ricky Lee and directed by Chris Martinez. “Nothing is certain yet, but I hope matuloy. It’ll be the most challenging role I’ll ever play in my entire career.”
