Rita Avila Laughs Off Rumor That She And Husband Erick Reyes Have Separated

RITA AVILA just laughs off the rumor that she and husband Director Erick FM Reyes have separated. “Ewan ko nga ba kung bakit may mga taong gusto kaming paghiwalayin,” she says. “Tinatawanan na lang namin.”

Rita plays the role of Max Collins and Jackie Rice’s mother in the new GMA-7 afternoon soap, “Innamorata” that starts airing this afternoon to replace “Magkano ang Pag-ibig”.

“Max is my daughter with Juan Rodrigo, si Jackie naman with Leandro Baldemor, at magiging ikatlong lalaki sa buhay ko si Michael de Mesa,” she says. “I’m not aware that anak ko pala si Max kasi iniwan ko siya at iba ang nagpalaki sa kanya.”

“Innamorata” is about the rare skin and blood disease known as porphyria, with Max playing the role of a girl who’s ultrasensitive to sunlight so her skin is like chicharon. Meantime, Rita’s husband, Direk Erick, is directing a new soap on ABS-CBN about another ailment called hypertrichosis, “Moon of Desire”, with Meg Imperial playing the role of a girl afflicted excessive hair growth on her face and body. Max becomes beautiful whenever she wears a magic necklace. In the case of Meg, she also becomes beautiful whenever there is a full moon. Wonder what’s the next rare disease they will feature in a teleserye?
