“Hindi ko talaga alam na siya ang host so nang marinig ko ang boses niya as we enter the venue (Mango Tree Bistro in BGC), nagulat ako’t kinabahan,” says Dennis. “Starstruck ako sa kanya noong magkatabi kami sa Star Awards.”
“Biniro kami ni Aga Muhlach noon,” says Ai Ai. “Pareho raw kaming single. Bigyan ko raw si Dennis ng kotse. Sinakyan ko naman ang mga biro sa amin. Sabi ko kay Dennis, do you have a car? O ayun, tinukso-tukso na kami.”
How does Dennis feel about it? “Medyo naiilang, but I’m flattered.”
Why doesn’t Ai Ai invite him to be his leading man in the Cinemalaya entry she’s doing, “Ronda”? “Sinabi ko nga sa kanya, kaso mayroon na rin daw siyang ginagawang indie film. Sayang.”
The Pepsters’ Choice Awards was conducted from May 17, 2013 to February 28, 2014 and they got a total of 18 million votes for the various categories. Tom Rodriguez also won as Breakout Star of the Year. The first batch of winners also include Kim Chiu and James Yap as 2013 Newsmakers of the Year, Vic Sotto and Kim Chiu as TV Male and Female Stars of the Year, Joey de Leon and Nora Aunor as Showbiz Treasures of the Year, Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose as Teen Stars of the Year, Renz Valerio and Ryzza Mae Dizon as Child Stars of the Year, Daniel Padilla as OPM Artist of the Year, with Lovi Poe and Xian Lim as FAB Award winners.
