Aljur is very happy for the positive feedback his new telefantasya is getting, “Kambal Sirena”, where he plays Kevin, owner of an ocean theme park where he trains dolphins. He’s often seen shirtless and he says this is not really new to him. “Kasi sa ‘Machete’ at ‘Amaya’, wala rin akong suot na pang-itaas.”
He’s a good friend of Ai Ai de las Alas, who said she’s so impressed when she saw Aljur’s shirtless photos for “Kambal Sirena”. Ai Ai is in their rival show, “Dyesebel”. What can he say if and when their two shows are pitted against each other? “E, wala naman kaming magagawa kung pagtatapatin ang aming shows. Basta kami sa ‘Kambal Sirena’, we’ll do our best para hindi bumitaw sa panonood sa amin ang viewers.”
It’s very noticeable that Aljur now has a deeper spiritually and this is evident when you talk to him. His new found spirituality was influenced by his Starstruck batchmate Jan Manual when they did “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko” together and they did Bible readings. At 24, he says he’s looking for his purpose in life.
“With the Lord’s guidance, I am seeking kung ano ba talaga ang purpose sa buhay na ito. Lahat naman tayo, yun ang question, di ba? Ano ba ang purpose natin sa buhay?”
So how does he intend to celebrate his birthday? “Monday yun at may taping kami. If I’m given the chance, I want to spend it alone, doing some travelling. Pa-drive-drive lang habang nag-iisip. Gusto ko, mas tumindi ang faith naming lahat ng family ko kay Lord so that we will always be united.”
