Does she feel any pressure that she’s being pitted against “Dyesebel”? “Siempre, kasi si Anne Curtis yun. Baguhan lang ako kung ikukumpara sa kanya. Kaya nga doble ang efforts na ibinibigay ko rito. Lahat kaming involved dito, sina Aljur Abrenica, Mike Tan and the rest of the cast and crew, best effort talaga kaming lahat dito because of the tough competition.”
The latest news is that “Kambal Sirena” will not be shown directly against “Dyesebel” but against “Ikaw Lamang” of Coco Martin and Kim Chiu, a straight drama. “Mabigat ding katapat yun but we’ll just do our best para magustuhan kami ng viewers,” says Louise.
How did she prepare for her twin roles? “Medyo physical ang role ng mermaid kaya pinaghandaan ko nang husto. Una, physically, nagpa-slim down talaga ako. Less carbo and more exercise.”
What’s her measurement now? “34-24-36 po ako ngayon. Walang retoke yan. All natural. Tapos, nag-aral ako ng swimming at scuba diving with Jess Lapid Jr. as our instructor. Buti nga si Aljur, good swimmer na. Pati underwater swimming, magaling na kami.”
What else is the edge of “Kambal Sirena”? “Unang-una, original ang story namin, unlike sa iba na remake kaya familiar na sa mga tao ang story at characters. Tapos, state-of-the-art ang production design, costumes and visual effects dito. May maganda ring message, showing the importance of how our differences can bring us closer to each other. Sa story kasi, Perlas is born with gills behind her ears samantalang si Alona, may buntot ng isda. Si Perlas works in an ocean park samantalang si Alona naman, nasa isang underwater kingdom called Sirenadia.”
Aljur plays Kevin, the handsome and rich son of Susanna (Lotlot De Leon). The twins both fall for him. Kevin manages the family business where he meets Perlas. As they start to develop feelings for each other, Susana learns that Perlas is the daughter of Marissa (Mickey Ferriols), who she accuses of cuasing her brother Enrique’s (Ryan Eigenmann) death. Alona also falls for Kevin when she saves him from drowning. Two sisters with different personalities fighting for one man. Which of them will win the heart of Kevin?
