AFTER COMPLETING all her scenes in “Padre de Pamilya” with Coco Martin, Nora Aunor is now shooting her second movie for this year, “Dementia”, on location in Batanes. She and the rest of the cast and crew will stay there for almost a month to finish the entire shoot. Ate Guy plays a Mara, a woman afflicted with dementia, which is equated with Alzheimer’s disease. She’s been forgetting a lot of things but sometimes remember bits and pieces of her past.
“It’s like a jigsaw puzzle,” she says. “In the end, marami akong matutuklasang katotohanan tungkol sa mga nangyari sa buhay ko.”
With her in the film are Jasmine Curtis Smith, Bing Loyzaga, Chynna Ortaleza and GMA’s Protege winner Jeric Gonzales who’s so lucky to co-star with Nora Aunor no less in his very first movie. “Dementia” is a horror-suspense thriller directed by former TV5 executive Perci Intalan and produced by his better half, Jun Lana, for Octobertrain, their own film company, and Studio 5, the film arm of TV5. Lana, himself a director, has two films in the can. First is “Kuwentong Barbero” which won the best actress award for Eugene Domingo in the Tokyo Filmfest and is now competing again in the coming Madrid Filmfest. And he also just wrapped up work for Regal Entertainment’s romantic flick, “So It’s You”, starring Carla Abellana, JC De Vera and Tom Rodriguez.
