Why Gelli De Belen Makes 'Confessions Of A Torpe' Worth Watching

THOSE WHO WATCH “Confessions of a Torpe” on TV5 regularly agree that Gelli de Belen is one of the best reasons why they like the show. “Ang galing-galing niya as the nerdy best friend of Ogie Alcasid na may lihim na pagmamahal dito,” says a friend who hopes Gelli will be given a bigger exposure in the show.

Didn’t Gelli have second thoughts in accepting the role where she is “uglified”? “Okay lang sa’king papangitin ako. It’s only a role anyway. Ang mas importante, magampanan ko ito nang maayos.”

Gelli started as a child actress but she’s now 40 years old. She has two sons with Ariel Rivera. The eldest, Joaquin is now 15 years old and the second, Julio, is 13. “Mga teenager na kaya may sarili na nilang mundo, may sarili na nilang mga lakad. Hindi gaya noong babies pa sila, puede mong dalhin kahit saan.”

Aside from acting in “Confessions of a Torpe”, Gelli is also busy hosting “Face the People”. “Kaya bale afternoon at evening ako napapanood ng mga tao araw-araw. Sa hapon, in ‘Face the People’ at sa gabi, sa ‘Confessions of a Torpe’ naman.”
