AT THE PRESSCON of “PBB All In”, we told Alex Gonzaga that she’s the only host of the show who has not experienced being an actual housemate. Her Ate Toni stayed as a housemate for four days while Bianca Gonzalez and John Prats were housemates at the PBB Celebrity Edition, and Robi Domingo was a member of PBB Teens. Alex agreed that this is true and said she’d like to try it, being a housemate.
When the “All In” housemates were introduced formally last Sunday night, Alex got the surprise of her life when her wish was granted. She was told by Kuya to go inside the house and be a housemate herself. Even her Ate Toni was surprised but was told that their mother, Mommy Pinty, has earlier given her permission to the PBB staff to make Alex an official housemate. “I’ll miss her kasi maingay yan sa bahay,” Toni said. “Magugulo sila sa loob.”
When Alex entered the confession room, Kuya told her she’d stay there for 100 days, like all the other housemates. But we think Kuya is just bluffing because, the truth is, Alex is even busier than her Ate Toni. She’s part of “Banana Split” and “Banana Nite” and is also taping for a new soap, “Pure Love”, a local adaptation of a hit Koreanovela where she’s paired with Arjo Atayde and Joseph Marco. So we don’t think she can afford to be gone for long and get stuck at PBB House for 100 days or three months.
Among those who made it as housemates are young Kapamilya actress Jane Oineza, volleyball player Michelle Gumabao (daughter of actor Dennis Roldan), the 15-year old daughter of Phoemela Baranda named Nichole, theatre actor Jacob Benedicto and the twin brothers of Chariz Solomon called Fourth and Fifth. Other recruits are Manolo Pedroza, Mariz Racal, Joshua Garcia, Loisa Andalio, Axel Torres, Ces Mae Visitacion, Chevin Cecilio, Aina Soriano, Ranty Portento, Jayme Jalandoni and for us the most good looking among the girls, Vickie Rushton. Alex and Ranty are the oldest housemates at 26 while the youngest is Nichole Baranda at 15. All in all, there’s a total of 18 housemates this season. Sancho, the son of Ai Ai de las Alas who was earlier reported to be part of it, unfortunately didn’t make it.
