Barbie Forteza Back With A New Show On Gma, 'The Half Sisters'

GMA-7 IS BUSY taping three new shows: “Dalawang Mrs. Real”, “Nino” and “My BFF”. Now, add to that yet another new program, “The Half Sisters”. This is an afternoon drama that will star Barbie Forteza and Thea Tolentino in the title roles. Thea is still in “Kambal Sirena” so her character will have to exit from there so she can focus on “Half Sisters”.

This is scheduled to start airing on May 26. Their leading men are Derrick Monasterio for Barbie and Andre Paras for Thea. This is Andre’s first regular soap, fresh from his success in the Viva youth movie, “Diary ng Panget”. Andre is busy with his college studies in UP, where he’s also a varsity player. Let’s see if he would be able to cope with the rigors of doing a soap that requires taping up to the wee hours of the morning while being a student and an athlete at the same time. And oh yes, he’s still also seen regularly as a host in “Sunday All Stars”.

As for Barbie and Derrick, aside from “The Half Sisters”, they’re also busy shooting for a new movie, “Full Moon”, directed by Dante Pangilinan for a new film outfit. Barbie also co-stars with Judy Ann Santos in the Cinemalaya entry, “Marquina”, by Milo Sogueco.
