Dennis Trillo And Susan Roces Topbill 'Eat Bulaga' Special Lenten Stories On Holy Monday

THROUGH THE YEARS, “Eat Bulaga” special Lenten presentations during Holy Week have been a tradition but they stopped it for some reason. This year, they’re bringing it back starting Holy Monday (April 14) to make your Lenten season truly meaningful. “Eat Bulaga” presents six inspirational stories of unwavering faith and hope until Holy Wednesday (April 16).

Joining the regular “EB” Dabarkads in each of the six inspiring stories are big name celebrities, led by Movie Queen Susan Roces, Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and award-winning actor Dennis Trillo, among others. There will be two episodes each day and each story is inspired by true experiences of people whose lives were touched by “Eat Bulaga’s” popular segment, “Bayanihan of the Pipol Juan For All, All For Juan.”

Holy Monday’s episode one is “Karugtong ng Kahapon,” starring Susan Roces, Paolo Ballesteros, Ehra Madrigal and Tito Sotto, directed by Mark Reyes. It about the importance of family, love and forgiveness, inspired by the life story of Emerita Seda, the househelp whose “Juan For All” winnings helped in her mother’s medication. As a trusted aide of the Tolentino clan, Maria inherits her employers’ old house which she shares with the family’s adopted son, Reynaldo, Maria’s former ward. When Reynaldo comes home from abroad, he divides and settles the property with his own family, throwing Maria out and letting her occupy a small quarter behind the main house. Despite this, deep love for her former ward would prevail upon Maria.

Episode two is “Ilaw Ng Kahapon” with Julia Clarete, Gladys Reyes, Perla Bautista, and Dennis Trillo, directed by Jun Lana and based on the story of Emelda Quistado, a Cavitena in search of her long-lost mother. A woman who longs for her family, Emily is haunted by a violent past in the hands of her abusive father. Luckily, Emily comes to experience love when she gets the chance to build her own family with Dante. But considering what she’s gone through, will she succeed in expressing the kind of love she was deprived of as a child? Will she be able to take it when she is abandoned by the very person she loves the most?

Don’t miss these touching true stories on Holy Monday, only on GMA-7.
