GMA-7 Reintroduces Former Child Actor Miguel Tanfelix As A Teen Idol

MIGUEL TANFELIX was the runnerup in StarStruck Kids 10 years. He was quickly cast in “Mulawin” and “Majika”. Through the years, he did several soaps like “Fantastic Man”, “Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso”, “Tinik sa Dibdib”, “Ikaw Sana”, “Langit sa Piling Mo”, “Nita Negrita”, “Futbolilits”, “Aso ni San Roque” and many more.

Now 15 years old, he’s being launched by GMA-7 as a teen star in “Nino”, where he plays the title role of a teenager with the mind of an 8 year old. Blessed with matinee idol good looks, his wish is to grow taller. “5’5” po ako ngayon at 15,” he says. “I’ll be 16 on September 21. Sana, by the time maging 18 ako, maging 5’9” or 5’10” man lang ang height ko.”

He’s paired with Bianca Umali, 14, in “Nino”. “We were first paired in ‘Paroa: Sa Daigdig ni Mariposa’ and ‘Mga Basang Sisiw’, so bale third time na namin ito and this time, we’re playing the lead roles. Both of us are with GMA Artist Center at nagpapasalamat kami sa kanila sa pag-aalaga nila sa amin. In ‘Nino’, parents ko sina Tom Rodriguez at Katrina Halili, pero nagkahiwalay sila at pinaanod ako sa ilog. May nakakuha sa akin, si Tita Luz Valdez, at pinalaki ako kasama si Bianca so we think magkapatid kami.”

Miguel will be a high school senior in a regular school in Dasmarinas, Cavite where his family lives. The eldest of two kids, he really wants to get a college degree. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa school ko ngayon kasi kapag nag-absent ako dahil sa work, they give me the chance to make up. Balak ko pong maging pilot o kaya, kumuha ng electronics and communications engineering.”
