GOV. VILMA SANTOS will be coming home to Manila from Los Angeles today after she had a nearly three-week long vacation in the U.S. with her sisters Winnie and Tess. She was not here when her eldest son, Luis “Lucky” Manzano, celebrated his 33rd birthday yesterday, April 21.
The day before she left for the U.S. on April 3, Ate Vi was awarded a doctorate degree in humanities, honoris causa, by the Batangas State University. Also, after winning the best actress award at the Dhaka International Filmfest, her first indie film, “Ekstra, The Bit Player” (for which she also won the Cinemalaya best actress award) is now also being shown at the 24th Festival del Cinema Africano, d'Asia e America Latina in Milan, the 40th Seattle International Film Festival and the 15th Rainbow Film Festival in London. We just don’t know if they’re in the competition section or just for exhibition. In any case, if it’s competing, here’s wishing Ate Vi good luck she so she would win and bring home another international acting award.
