GRETCHEN BARRETTO rejected all attempts by print and TV reporters for her to comment on the family feud she’s having with sister Claudine and their Mommy Inday.
“You know, that's something I don't want to talk about simply because I believe natigil na yung ganyang usapan tungkol sa pamilya. So, to bring it up again, what for, di ba? We have moved on and it's been a year. Things change and people change. Enough is enough. We have become very positive. We have been leading and living a very quite comfortable life, a peaceful life, I mean. So to deal with negative things, what for? What will we achieve? So sana you'll respect me. I’ve said it many times before and if you wanna talk about it just to get high ratings, I'm not gonna give it to you. I'm serious. I mean, why try and make me talk and then make life miserable just for you to rate? I mean, I've already said my piece. I am happy. Don't make me unhappy. Don't bring back the past, you know. It's pointless, it's a happy occasion, what for?”
Gretchen was interviewed at the launch of her daughter Dominique Cojuangco, 19, as a new Bench model, along with the daughters of Edu Manzano, Addie (predicted to be the one most likely to make it if she’d join showbiz), and the late Miguel Rodriguez who passed in 1997, Sam. Dominique is currently studying fashion designing in London and just came home for the launch then left again for London the next day.
Gretchen is supposed to be doing a new movie with Richard Gomez and John Lloyd Cruz for Star Cinema but it’s currently on hold. “They’re rewriting the script before we start shooting,” she says.
What can she say about her niece Julia (daughter of her sister Marjorie) who now stars in her own soap on ABS-CBN, “Mira Bella”? “I heard her show is rating well so I’m very happy for her. She’s also doing a lot of commercials so she’s very successful.”
