Kristoffer Martin Plays First Gay Role In 'siga Noon, Beki Na Ngayon' On 'Magpakailanman' This Saturday Night

KRISTOFFER MARTIN plays his first gay role ever in the episode “Siga Noon, Beki na Ngayon” in this Saturday’s “Magpakailanman”. Based on the true story of Christopher Aguinaldo alias Nognog, the episode starts with Kristoffer as a tough guy in their neighborhood, a slum area. He hates gays with a passion and even terrorizes them. He has also impregnated three girls but it turns out he has a closeted true self and this surfaces when he falls in love with their handsome new neighbour, Anton, played by Mark Herras.

But Nognog cannot just come out and be his real self because he is terribly scared of his very strict dad, played by Michael de Mesa, who brought up him to be a real macho man and male chauvinist for whom real men should know how to fight all the time. Find out how the truth sets him free in “Magpakailanman” hosted by Tita Mel Tiangco tomorrow night, after “Vampire ang Daddy Ko”.

Did Kristoffer find it difficult to interpret the role? “Yes, lalo na yung pagsi-shift na ng character from lalaking-lalaki to a beki na nakapekpek shorts ako, tumitikwas ang mga daliri at nagmumuher na naka-pink pa. Nahihiya ako sa mga taong nanonood sa taping, pero positive naman ang reaction nila. Sabi nila, ang ganda mo. I’ll admit na noong bata pa ako, naiilang ako sa gays, lalo na when I was in grade and high school. Pero nang mapasok na ko sa showbiz, na-at home na ko in their company. Respetuhan lang. Wala akong karapatang mag-judge sa kanila. Wala akong sinumang peg in interpreting the role of Nognog. Basta ginampanan ko lang siya nang ayon sa nakasulat sa script. Ang motivation ko, inisip kong may pusong babae talaga ako.”

Also in the cast are Shamaine Buencamino as his mom, Maricris Garcia as his girlfriend, Jan Manual as his best friend when he turned gay and Brian Benedict as his best friend as a tough guy, written by Michiko Yamamoto and directed by Neal del Rosario. Kristoffer doesn’t have a new regular soap yet after “Paraiso” with Kim Rodriguez ended, so he’s hoping GMA-7 would given him a new drama series soon.
