New Season Of 'Pinoy Big Brother All In' Mixes Adult With Teen Housemates Starting This Sunday Night

THE TITLE of the new edition of “Pinoy Big Brother” is “All In”. Why? Because for the first time, the adult housemates of the regular edition will be combined with the teenage housemates of PBB Teens. “This is the first time this will happen anywhere in the world,” says John Prats, who’s one of the hosts, along with Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga.

The phenomenal reality show, that catapulted such names as Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Sam Milby to stardom, started nine years ago. The new “PBB All In” will feature housemates aged 15 to 35 who will live together inside the famous “PBB” house and will face tough challenges in 100 days. Let’s see if this batch would produce more big stars.

The grand kick-off will be on Sunday night, but some housemates will be introduced early on in “ASAP” and “Buzz ng Bayan.” How many of them will be adult and how many will be teens?

“We don’t know,” says Toni. “We’ve asked but the team, headed by Direk Lauren Dyogi who’s hands on in everything, is not revealing anything, so abangan nyo na lang. Viewers can expect the unexpected because what happens inside the ‘PBB’ house is always a surprise. We hosts are just as excited as everyone else.” Toni is the original “PBB” host since its first season. “I was only 21 when I joined ‘PBB.’ It’s no longer a job for me; it’s already my second family. I’ve matured and grown not only as a host but as a person.”

Bianca, like Toni, has been in PBB for several seasons. “The challenge for us hosts is to keep people interested and keep it relevant. It gets easier for us in the sense that we already know what the program is all about since we’ve had ten editions. But with ‘All In’, we want to bring back the rawness from season one with a different mix of housemates,” says Bianca who started hosting “PBB” in its first teen edition. She will again be joining John and Robi, along with newbie Alex in “Uber,” which will air on weekdays afternoons on Kapamilya Gold.

John quips: “We were surprised by our chemistry in ‘Uber.’ We took on certain roles that were developed only while we were doing the show. Our personalities really jived. That they’re bringing back ‘Uber’ only means that we did something good.” Robi attributes their chemistry to their being former housemates themselves. As such, they can relate with the goings-on inside the “PBB” house. Robi was the 2nd placer in the show’s 2nd teen edition, while Bianca and John joined its 1st celebrity edition. “Other people won’t ever understand what the housemates go through, only ex-housemates can. It’s always wonderful to relive our own memories inside the house,” Robi says.

Alex reveals that she’s been a fan of the show since its first season so it’s an honor for her to be part of it now. “I’m happy that I’m part of PBB’s return. I enjoy watching it because as a person, I’m a natural chismosa, so before, I would always ask Ate Toni what happened in the confession room, what they didn’t show on TV.”

Viewers and netizens are also expected to get even more involved in the show with its highly interactive components on social media. “PBB All In” made history by holding Philippine TV’s first ever multi-platform auditions, drawing a total of 44,000 applicants in its on-ground auditions all over the country, online and the fast track option through ABS-CBNmobile. Don’t miss the premiere of “Pinoy Big Brother All In” this Sunday night live on ABS-CBN.
