Ruffa Gutierrez Turns Down Role In The Satire 'Beauty In A Bottle' Due To Her New Endorsement

RUFFA GUTIERREZ was being cast in the satirical comedy “Beauty in a Bottle”, a spoof on the Filipino’s penchant for using various beauty products, especially whitening preparations. This is produced by Atty. Joji Alonso of Quantum Films, based on a story idea of Chris Martinez, written and directed Antoinette Jadaone who gained fame for the indie film she did on much sought after horror actress Lilia Cuntapay, “Six Degrees of Separation from LC”.

The problem is Ruffa, who’s still in France vacationing with her two daughters, just signed up with Cosmo Skin, a skin whitener, so she can’t do the movie as it might be against the very product she is currently endorsing. She has no choice but to beg off from “Beauty in a Bottle”, which is too bad since the role of a beauty queen in the story is just perfect for her. Tapped to take her place is Assunta de Rossi. Also in the cast are Angelica Panganiban and Angeline Quinto.

This is line produced by Alemberg Ang of “Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”. See, they’re all A’s in the movie: Alonso and Alemberg Ang as producers. Antoinette as writer-director. Assunta, Angelica and Angeline as the actresses. But what do you honestly think of the casting?
