TRUST INSTAGRAM to reveal the latest happenings among our stars. KC Concepcion was here in Manila for her 29th birthday on April 7 and she posted a foto with Paulo Avelino holding cupcakes with lighted candles for her, making some wags conclude that they must already be going steady. Soon after that, KC flew back to New York where she’s taking up some acting classes.
Last Holy Week, she posted pictures showing her and Paulo in New York City. Everyone was surprised because Paulo tried to get a U.S. visa before when LJ Reyes gave birth to their son Aki in New York City (where LJ’s mom lives) but he was rejected by the consul at the U.S. embassy who interviewed him. Obviously, he has since reapplied and was finally given an approval so he was able to follow KC. Paulo didn’t even mention at all in his social media accounts that he’s leaving for the U.S. so people were quite astonished when they suddenly saw his photos there with KC, particularly in a famous bar in Manhattan and at the Museum of Modern Art. He was also able to watch some Broadway plays, like “All the Way” and “Jersey Boys”.
Everyone thought things must now be going swimmingly well between KC and Pau, but obviously, something else happened as they were singing a different tune when Pau returned back to Manila on Saturday by himself. He can’t stay away very long as he’s taping “Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon” with Bea Alonzo.
KC posted a photo showing her and Pau’s shadows, saying: “Our roads are gonna cross again it doesn’t really matter when.” This is a line from Barry Manilow’s song “Somewhere Down the Road.” This was followed by Pau’s photo showing him with a long and sad face. Those who saw it on Instagram concluded KC must have turned down Pau’s suit, as suggested by the song’s other lyrics, which say: “We had the right love at the wrong time. Those dreams of yours are shining on distant shores, And if they’re calling you away I have no right to make you stay.”
As one fan wrote to Pau about their aborted relationship: “After being so close to KC you will have a hard time meeting someone like her . You are so lucky that she has a crush on you. I know u talked about it. I have a feeling that KC is eyeing a career in NY and to maintain the friendship it's better not to enter in a relationship for the meantime since she will be in NY for a while. I hope and pray you two still end up together.”
