ALICE DIXSON just won the Pasado best actress award for her portrayal of Gabby Concepcion’s wronged wife in “When the Love is Gone”. She now gives another convincing performance as Sabel, the stuttering ex-convict who was imprisoned for killing the man who sold her love child to Jackielou Blanco and Ariel Rivera in TV5’s Mother’s Day presentation, “More than Words”, to be shown tonight at 9 PM.
“It’s a difficult role and first time for me to play something like it,” she says. “Kung sa ‘For Love or Money’, puro expensive clothes and jewelry ang suot ko as a wealthy woman who wants to buy Derek Ramsay’s love, this time, I’m totally deglamourized. Dahil bulol ako at hirap na hirap magsalita, laughing stock din ako ng mga tao at lagi akong binu-bully. My only dream is to be reunited with my missing daughter, na hindi ko alam is the volunteer teacher pala who taught me how to read and write, Sarah Lahbati.”
So how’s Sarah in their dramatic scenes? “Wala akong expectations kasi first time namin to work together but she really surprised me. Magaling siya. She delivers. Nagtulungan kami to make our dramatic scenes really work. Magaan din siyang katrabaho as she’s very professional.”
