Bea Alonzo Plays Challenging Triple Roles In 'Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon'

BEA ALONZO’s new soap, “Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon” (which will replace “Legal Wife”) is a big challenge to her as she’ll be playing three different roles. We saw choice scenes from the show in a special presscon ABS-CBN called for Bea and we first see her as Rose Buenavista, heir to a big chocolate company. She’s deglamorized here as she wears unsightly dentures, has unruly eyebrows and looks more like an old maid. Her dad, Chinggoy Alonzo, tells here she’s smart, but she’s not pretty. Then she meets a hunky chocolatier for the chocolate shop she’s putting up, Paulo Avelino as Patrick, and easily falls for him. We saw the scene where they first meet, with Paulo making her taste the chocolates he himself made and it’s so sensually staged it becomes a virtual seduction scene.

Bea’s other role is Emmanuelle, a successful lawyer with no time for her husband, Albert Martinez, and their son. Rose is framed up for the death of her own dad and gets Emmanuelle as her lawyer. An accident happens where one of them dies and the surviving one assumes the identity of the other. This is where the mystery becomes even more complicated as a third Bea character emerges: a cross between Rose and Emmanuelle.

“It’s really very challenging and physically draining kasi papalit-palit ako ng make up, costume, hair style, lalo na sa scenes na I need double exposure,” says Bea. “But I love and welcome challenges and I know that I’ll be proud of this project.”

Bea’s career is truly on a roll as she just comes from a hit movie with Dingdong Dantes, “She’s the One”. She’s due to make another film for Star Cinema soon. Even her lovelife is doing well. She and Zanjoe Marudo compliment each other. Zanjoe just came from a hit soap, “Anna Liza”, and is now doing two new films, “Illegal Wife” with Pokwang and “Maria Leonora Theresa” with Iza Calzado and Jodi Sta. Maria. You can say they’re really both lucky in love and career, which seldom happens in showbiz.
