Coney Reyes Started With GMA-7 40 Years Ago, Now Back To Being A Kapuso

AFTER DOING several soaps and movies with ABS-CBN (her last soap was “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” and her last movie was “Four Sisters and a Wedding”), Coney Reyes is now back with GMA-7. “I prayed hard for this kasi ayoko namang tanggap lang ako ng tanggap,” she says. “But tamang-tama ito now that I celebrate my 40th anniversary in showbiz. And where did I start but dito rin sa GMA as a host in ‘Student Canteen’? I was with ‘Student Canteen’ until 1982 then lumipat ako sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ where I stayed for 10 years also, until 1992. And then in 1977, nagkaroon rin ako ng my own drama show on GMA-7, ‘Coney Reyes Mumar Drama Studio’ na later ay naging ‘Coney Reyes Mumar on the Set’. Also, I’m celebrating my 60th birthday on May 27. And here I am back with GMA-7.”

She will be part of the cast of “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real” which will replace “Rhodora X” starting June 2. “Anak ko rito si Dingdong Dantes at ang dalawang misis niya are Maricel Soriano and Lovi Poe. Pero ko ang talagang ang very first Mrs. Real as Dingdong’s mom. Very important ang role ko at ang gaganda ng lines na binigay nila sa akin kaya tuwang-tuwa ako sa soap na ito. Napakabait lahat ng kasama ko, I cannot complain, lalo na si Dingdong in the role of my son.”
