Derek Ramsay Reveals Why Movie With Kris Aquino Won't Push Through

DEREK RAMSAY is so generous in giving his time with his fans. After the TV5 program proper at the ad summit, so many of them trooped on stage to take their pictures with him and he gamely obliged to pose with them. It took quite a long while before all of them got their picture with him but he was very patient. The TV5 entourage all stayed at the Subic International Hotel and, later on, more fans lined up for picture taking, up to the time we’re having breakfast the following morning, but still, you won’t hear Derek complain. Even the waiters and other hotel personnel had their fill of the photo sessions.

We told Derek that Kris Aquino is obviously very eager to be the first actress to be paired with him after he signed up with Regal, so much so that she convinced Mother Lily to team her up with him first before Marian Rivera. How does he feel about this?

“Hindi na yun matutuloy,” he says. “Hindi siya pinayagan ng ABS to do a movie with me. I don’t know why. I really thought okay na ako with them. Mother Lily says I might do a movie with Marian or Lovi Poe. We just don’t know when we’ll start kasi I’m about to start the new season of ‘The Amazing Race’ for TV5, which will definitely be bigger than the first one. Also, I’ve committed to do the Cinemalaya entry, ‘The Janitor’, to Direk Mike Tuviera, who directed me before in ‘Kidlat’. I will play a bank robber and Dennis Trillo plays a cop.
