Janine Gutierrez Wants To Work With Lola Nora Aunor & Lolo Christopher De Leon

JANINE GUTIERREZ feels so sad that they will have their last taping day for “Villa Quintana” on Monday. “We started taping in October so ang tagal na naming magkakasama ng buong cast,” she says. “I’ll surely miss them all kasi ang ganda ng naging bonding naming lahat. Magkakasundo kami from Direk Gina Alajar to the crew. Inalagaan nila kami rito. They know I’m sad about it kasi everytime tinutukso nila kong patapos na kami, naiiyak ako.”

And it’ll also be memorable because this is where she Elmo Magalona’s relationship really bloomed. “Yes, this is where we got to know each other better and became closer. Also, first lead kasi namin ito. When we started, we didn’t know how the show will do. Mabuti’t sinuportahan kami ng viewers. What happened is beyond our expectations.”

So what will happen to their characters, Lynette and Isagani? “Naku, maraming mangyayari sa last two weeks namin. May major characters na mamamatay so abangan nyo. Malalaman ko na kung sino ang tunay kong ina. Abangan nyo rin kung magkakatuluyan pa kami ni Elmo kasi, as of now, may iba na kaming kanya-kanyang lovelife.”

At the PEP Awards, it’s said she wore a gown that has already been used before by Megan Young when she joined Miss Philippines World. “Yes, but I didn’t know it. Kasi yung stylist ko got the same designer of Megan. Pero okay lang, it’s no big deal. Kasi even in the States naman, nangyayari yun na pareho ang gowns na sinuot ng mga artista. Ang masama, kung hindi bumagay yung gown sa’kin.”

Also, at the PEP Awards, did she feel awkward when she saw the other two girls previously linked with Elmo, Lauren Young and Julie Ann San Jose? “No, wala namang issue sa amin. Nagbatian kami kami sa red carpet ng PEP. Dati naman kaming nagkikita sa ‘Sunday All Stars’ at okay naman kaming lahat.”

But some fans of the Elmo-Julie love team continue to bash her. How does feel about it? “Wala. Dedma na lang. You can’t please everyone. The fact na nagre-rate ang ‘Villa Quintana’ is proof na mas marami ang nakakagusto sa team up namin.”

It was her grandma Nora Aunor’s birthday last Wednesday. Did she get a chance to greet her? “No, hindi kami nagkikita. The last time was at Christmas noong kababalik lang niya rito. Niloloko niya nga kami ng mga kapatid ko, puro raw kami tisoy at tisay na apo niya at nagmana lahat sa kanya. What I’d really like to do is to be given the chance to act with her, my mom (Lotlot de Leon) and Lolo Bo (Christopher de Leon) as I know I’ll learn a lot from them.”

So what’s her next project after “Villa Quintana”? “Wala pang sinasabi ang GMA. Sana nga, masundan agad. Meantime, rest muna ako.”
