LOOKS LIKE Angel Locsin will be a bride soon. When her BF Luis Manzano was asked at “The Voice” presscon as to what he’d prioritize, a wedding or running for public office in 2016, his answer was that, although he has resolved to join politics, his priority is having a wedding. So does that mean he has plans of walking down the aisle with Angel by next year, 2015?
“Sana, tingnan po natin,” he replies. “Definitely, not this year kasi may gagawin siyang bagong movie and may movie rin ako for the filmfest, so we’ll both be very busy.”
Well, as they say, love is sweeter the second time around. It’s not surprising for Luis to seriously consider tying the knot with Angel after they broke up and hooked up with each other again. And why not? He’s now already 33 years old while Angel is 29, both of legal and marrying age. He has a successful career as a TV host and also as an actor every now and then. He has his own business, a fleet of taxi cabs. And he already has his own house: the house in Green Meadows where he and his mom used to live. It was given to him after his mom and Sen. Ralph Recto moved with Ryan Christian to a new home in Alabang, so he and Angel can start their family there.
His mom obviously approves of Angel for him. Last Mother’s Day, he brought Angel to his mom’s home to have dinner with their family and even his Uncle Ralph and brother Ryan are very open in welcoming Angel as part of their family. “I can see genuine smiles from my mom and my Kiti (Angel’s pet name for Luis) when they are together,” he says. “Mas magkasundo rin kami ngayon kasi we have both matured since our last time together. Mas tanggap na namin ang mga naging pagkukulang namin noon sa isa’t isa. Actually, hinihintay ko na lang ang proposal niya.”
As for running for public office in 2016, he says he’s open about it but he’s not yet sure as to what position he will run for. “I will have to meet muna with my advisers and study the whole situation. Ayokong pumasok diyan ng walang preparasyon.”
