Ogie Alcasid Reunites With A Long Lost Fan In His Abu Dhabi Show For TV5

OGIE ALCASID when he performed in Abu Dhabi to help promote TV5 shows there. He saw in the audience a woman named Sally, who was an avid fan of him and his love team then with Manilyn Reynes. “She’s an office of our official fans club and we’re very close,” he says. “We lost touch at nagulat na lang ako when I saw in the audience kaya nilapitan ko’t niyakap. It was a great reunion for us.”

Ogie performed there and in Dubai with the hilarious cast of “Tropa Mo Ko Unli”, to promote TV5 shows on Pilipinas Global Network Ltd. (PGNL), a 60-40 joint venture of PLDT and TV5 and the renewal of TV5’s contract with OSN, the biggest PAY TV platform in the Middle East. With the renewed partnership, TV5 International has significantly moved from No. 3 position to a very strong No. 2 player in the Middle East region, which is home to over two million overseas Filipinos.

“In just a matter of three years, TV5 International has now become the strong No. 2 player in the Middle Eastern region,” says PGNL Pres., Claro Carmelo Ramirez. “So we really wanted to celebrate this important milestone with our viewers based there. Tropa Mo Ko Unli has always been one of our consistent highest-rated programs, we knew that bringing the main cast to Dubai and Abu Dhabi would really make their viewing experience more enjoyable and memorable.”

Aside from Ogie, the Kapatid stars who performed were Gelli de Belen, Alwyn Uytingco, Tuesday Vargas, Wendell Ramos, Empoy, Ritz Azul, Edgar Allan Guzman, Valeen Montenegro, with special guest Iwa Moto. The female audience could not get their hands off both Wendell and Edgar Allan while these guys serenaded them. Tuesday Vargas’ infectious humor kept everyone in high spirits while Ogie sang some of his classic and all-time favorite hits. The first part of the Arabian Sands summer invasion of Tropa Mo Ko Unli was aired last Saturday and the final part will be aired tonight, May 3, at 7:15pm so don’t miss it.
