ROMNICK SARMENTA is back before the movie camera in “Hustisya” and he’s glad to be acting with Nora Aunor. “Na-miss ko talaga ang pag-arte kasi my last movie was, ang tagal na, the indie film ng Cinema One na ‘Prinsesa’ pa four years ago, where I played an OFW na nalayo sa pamilya niya,” he says. “I’m glad I’m now part of ‘Hustisya’. When I read the script of Ricky Lee, ang ganda. Kahit sinong artista will be glad and proud to be part of this movie. Tapos, ang ganda pa ng role ko as a journalist who’ll cover the story of Nora Aunor after ma-accused siya of killing someone.
It’s common knowledge that his wife Harlene is the sister of QC Mayor Herbert Bautista. Didn’t he ever see himself also entering politics like his brother in law? “I’m not for politics. Calling yan, e. I can see yung time na binibigay niya sa tao. Ako, I want to devote more of my time sa family namin. Nakikita yung paglaki ng mga bata. I prefer a quiet life. Sa politics, kahit gumawa ka na ng tama, you can’t please them all, marami pa ring galit sa’yo. So aarte na lang ako.”
How did he and Harlene feel when Mayor Bistek was linked to Kris Aquino? We thought it’s highly unfair for anyone to express his negative opinions kasi hindi mo naman sila personal na kaibigan o kakilala, e. Give them space. Give them time to work on it. Bakit? Ano bang alam nyo? What gives you the right to say na hindi dapat? Sana, pinabayaan na lang muna sila.”
