Coney Reyes Says She Remains in Good Terms With Vic Sotto Because of Their Son, Vico

CONEY REYES is surprised that a lot of people reacted when she said in her “Startalk” interview that she tried to commit suicide twice. “Nai-share ko na yun sa ‘700 Club’ and in all my testimonies, also sa book na ‘This is My Story’, so it’s nothing new,” she says. “I was on the brink but the Lord turned my life around. I never hid it and now I do a lot of counselling to people who are lost and losing hope.”

She’s also surprised that writers are asking her if she’d guest in “Eat Bulaga” to promote “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real”? “E, I was there noong 25th anniversary nila at okay naman kami ni Vic. We're in good terms because of our son. He has dinner with us every now and then. Nag-guest na ako noon sa ‘Daddy Di Do Du’ niya at sa ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’.”

We tell her she and her son with Vic, Vico, should guest in Binoy Henyo? “Naku, hihimatayin siguro ko sa nerbiyos, pero tingnan natin kung iimbitahin kami.”

People say she looks like Vic’s current, Pauleen Luna? “I haven’t met her at mananahimik na lang ako sa mga ganyan. I don’t want to bother anyone kaya huwag nyo na lang ako isali diyan. My life is already so tahimik it’s boring.”

How come she lost a lot of weight? “I don’t eat meat anymore. Ang hindi ko lang maiwasan, chocolates. Itinatago na nga sa’kin ng anak kong si Vico.”

How are her kids? “L.A. is married and I have two apos with him, Lorenzo and Mateo. Carla is now a training consultant at independent na rin. Si Vico na lang ang kasama ko sa bahay. He’s 24, got two years of law in UP, pero ngayon, he’s working with the Quezon City government.”

She turned 60 on May 27. What’s her birthday wish? “Good health for all my loved ones and to be able to fulfil God’s plan for me. I just want to continue to be blessed and be a blessing to others also. Kunsaan-saang lupalop ako nakakarating making testimonies about how the Lord touched me and changed my life.”

How is it working with Dingdong in “Dalawang Mrs. Real”? “Napakagaang katrabaho. Marunong rumespeto, he loves his work and he is very serious about it kaya masarap kaeksena.”
