GABBY EIGENMANN is teary eyed because of the very positive feedback he’s getting for his moving portrayal of Carding, a closeted gay who eventually admits his homosexuality to his homophobic dad, Freddie Webb, in “Dading”, which replaced “Inamorata”.
“This is my biggest acting break as I play the title role, kaya binuhos ko na lahat dito,” he says. “Nasanay na ako playing villain roles so when they gave me this project, I was overwhelmed! Hindi ko naman po talaga inambisyon ito, but now I am so happy and feel so blessed.”
He seems like he’s about to cry? “Hayaan nyo na. Give this naman to me! Pagbigyan nyo na ko. I’m so honored to be working with Direk Ricky Davao and all my co-stars. Grateful ako sa GMA na nabigyan na naman ako ng ganitong pagkakataon. And the show is something the LGBT gay community will appreciate kasi hindi nito minamaliit o ginagawang katatawanan ang mga bading but ask for a better understanding of their situation.”
We ask him about his dad, Mark Gil, who’s reported to be ailing from a liver ailment. “He told me he’s okay. Kung may pinagdaraanan man siya, gusto niya, sa kanya mismo manggaling, so hintayin na lang natin.”
