Maja Salvador Out To Prove She's Not Only A Good Actress But A Total Performer

MAJA SALVADOR is out to prove she’s not only a good actress but also a top song-and-dance performer in her first big concert, “Maj, The Legal Performer”, at Music Museum on July 12, Saturday. She left yesterday (Thursday) for Canada with Angel Locsin. “Papasalamatan namin lahat ng viewers who made our soap ‘The Legal Wife’ a big success,” she says.

What can she say that a lot of people don’t like the ending? “Marami rin namang nakagusto. Ako, I really like that kind of ending na walang kinidnap, walang pinatay, realistic lang. Ipinakita lang namin yung totoong nangyayari hanggang ending.”

So what’s next for her? “May nakalinyang bagong teleserye na mabait naman ako and I’ll be with a real big star, but bawal pang i-reveal ang details. Busy muna ko preparing for my concert. Gagawin kong lahat para masabi ng tao, ay, she’s a total performer.”

Is having a concert really part of her plans when she joined showbiz? “Hindi naman plan kundi dream ko lang. Idol ko noon sina Cristina Aguilera at Britney Spears. Ginagaya ko music videos nila na kumakanta habang bumababa ng hagdan. Mas una kong nakilala as a dancer sa ASAP, then I did mall shows na nagli-lipsync ako. People said, okay naman ang voice mo, you can sing live. Kinuha ko ng Ivory Records to record my own album, ‘Believe’, which has the hit single ‘Dahan-Dahan’, and I toured 13 cities all over the country doing live shows. Ngayon, heto, Music Museum na. I’m really excited. I got a voice teacher, Ms. Annie of the Company. Mr. Johnny Manahan, who’ll direct it, and Tita Mariole Alberto gave the concert’s title, ‘Maj, The Legal Performer’. Kasi ang una kong naisip, ‘One Night Affair’, pero paano nga naman kung may repeat? My guests are Piolo Pascual, Rayver Cruz, Enchong Dee and Enrique Gil. Tapos, marami pang nangakong sisipot so we’ll have surprise guests.”

Including her BF Gerald Anderson? “Ay, hindi siya kasama.” Does she agree with Gerald’s belief they shouldn’t work with each other? “Yes, tama naman siya. Ihiwalay natin ang personal life sa trabaho.”

But would she invite him to at least watch the concert? “I don’t know if he could dahil araw-araw ang taping niya. But if he would, sana patago, para hindi ako ma-conscious kapag nalaman kong nanonood siya.”

Her concert tickets range from P800 to P2,500, produced by Hills and Dreams Events and available at all Ticketworld outlets. We heard it’s almost sold out.
